Today, November 21st, officially marks Beaujolais Nouveau wine season. Beaujolais Nouveau wine is the “first wine of harvest” and per French laws and customs is always released on the third Thursday of November.
Georges Duboeuf’s 2019 Beaujolais Nouveau 2019 wines—Beaujolais Nouveau, Beaujolais-Villages Nouveau and Beaujolais Nouveau Rosé—are the expressive and impressive results. “This vintage was strongly shaped by the weather, which means our 2019 Beaujolais Nouveau will be unique and full of individual character,” said Franck Duboeuf, who leads Les Vins Georges Duboeuf, founded by his father Georges in the early 1960s. Georges introduced the region’s local tradition of toasting the harvest with the young wines to a global audience in the 1980s.
As a set, the Red, White, and Rosé make a great gift to bring to a holiday or dinner party. The festive labels were created by artist Laura Runge (pictured above with Franck Duboeuf), who won this year’s Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau Label Artist’s Competition. Or, grab a bunch of bottles of Beaujolais Nouveau wine to serve at home with dinner. In addition, there are many restaurants around the country that are hosting Beaujolais Nouveau parties.
