The food and magazine world has lost one of its mainstays with the demise of Gourmet magazine. One has to wonder about the state of magazines in general when such a steadfast publication is closing. And the powers that be seem so mean about it: according to one article, all of the employees will be laid off and will have to leave the office by the end of the week. The November issue now being printed is its last.
