Not your grandmother’s iced tea

Harney & Sons SoHo

There are classic iced tea drinkers and those who love to experiment. If you’re in the latter category (as I am), I have a few ideas for you.

One is this wonderful tea I just discovered at Harney & Sons in SoHo: the Fruits d’Alsace tea was inspired by Jean Joho, a famous Alsatian chef. Containing the flavors of fruit trees—plums, apricots and cherries—it’s light, refreshing and with a touch of honey makes an elegant cup.

Other teas from Harney & Sons that you might enjoy both iced and hot: East Frisian, Paris, SoHo Blend and Boston (my hometown).

Visit Harney & Sons for more iced tea ideas. In New York, stop by the SoHo shop for free tastings: 433 Broome St Ground Floor, New York, NY 10013/212-933-4853

For other refreshing tea ideas, I wrote about some of my favorites over at Dean & Deluca. As you’ll read, Mariage Frères makes exquisite tea in unique flavor combinations.

This summer try something new. And let me know what you discover.
