When you’re in the mood for something different, when a classic cocktail just won’t do, I urge you to try one of these creative cocktails I discovered during my adventures out and about. If you like surprises, these drinks won’t disappoint: you’ll find sriracha, butterfly pea flower extract (!), cardamom syrup, Mediterranean flake sea salt, and other ingredients sure to tempt your taste buds. Whether you’re craving a spicy drink or a refreshing one, you’ll find a a creative cocktail below.

FLY AWAY

Ingredients

.5 oz raspberry syrup
1 oz lime juice
Soda water
Lime wheel
To a shaker, add the extract, vodka, wine, raspberry syrup and ice. Strain into the rocks glass with ice.  Top with soda water and lime juice, stir. Garnish with lime wheel.

MONTENEGRO PALERMO

Ingredients

2oz of Hornitos tequila reposado
1/2 oz Montenegro Amaro
3/4 oz fresh lime juice
3/4 oz agave
1 oz fresh grapefruit juice
Grenadine
Glass garnish: Flake Salt – SaltWorks Cyprus Mediterranean Flake Salt (available on Amazon) is highly recommended. All ingredients hard shaken. Slightly moisten one side of a double rocks glass and roll in flake salt. Pour cocktail ingredients into double rocks glass. Add grenadine as floater.

SPICY CARROT CARDAMOM MARGARITA

Ingredients

1.5 oz. Reposado Tequila or Mezcal
½ tsp. Sriracha Sauce
1 tsp. cardamom infused agave syrup
1 oz. fresh lime juice
3 oz. fresh carrot juice
Combine ingredients in a mixing glass with ice.  Shake vigorously. Pour into a celery salt rimmed rocks glass. Garnish with a cucumber wheel and asparagus spear.
